Our Foundation

What We Believe

One canon. Three creeds. Four councils. The faith once delivered to the saints.

Apostolic Faith

Apostolic Faith

The Church is obliged continually, and particularly in times of renewal or reformation, to return to “the faith once delivered to the saints.” That is why we strive to hear God's Word as it comes to us in the Bible, and to read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest the apostolic faith handed down through the ages of church history.

One Canon

One Canon

As Anglicans, we stand in a long tradition of upholding the authority of Scripture. We affirm the singular biblical canon — the thirty-nine books of the Old Testament and the twenty-seven of the New. We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, a sacred guide for our lives.

Three Creeds

Three Creeds

Our belief is founded on the principles of traditional Christianity, as articulated in the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds. While we recognize the Bible as the ultimate authority as God's Word, we also acknowledge the critical role the early creeds play in interpreting it faithfully.

Four Councils

Four Councils

During the Councils of Nicea, Constantinople, Ephesus, and Chalcedon, the biblical canon and early creeds were established as the fundamental boundaries for orthodox Christianity. These milestones serve as essential guides for matters of faith and practice.
